In Matthew 5:9 Jesus doesn't say happy are the peaceFUL, or even happy are the peaceKEEPERS - He says "Happy are the peaceMAKERS." While that may sound great, the problem is peacekeeping is messy. Our aversion to risk and discomfort means that no one naturally bends towards peacemaking yet when we lean into the way of Jesus we find new life for all.
