Our youth leaders, and their stories:
Hey everyone! My name is Raymond, and I have been a leader of the youth ministry at Bridge Church since 2020, and have been involved in a youth ministry in some way or another since 2012. My wife, Katie, and I have been married since 2020, and we have twin daughters, which has made life wonderfully busy and joyful! In my limited spare time, I enjoy many nerdy things ranging from science fiction novels and movies to board games, so many board games! I’ve been involved in youth ministry for over a decade because I have a passion for seeing teenagers come to understand the hope that we have in Jesus Christ, the friendships that form, and the joy with which we can approach the world because of that hope!
Hello fellow kids! My name is Gavin, and I've been a part of Bridge church as a staff member for the last four years in a part-time role. My other "jobs" include; freelance blog writing, school bus driving, and currently working on my Masters of Divinity degree! In my free time you can find me making gains at the gym, playing video games (when I'm not slammed with studies), and coffee; making pourover, aeropress, anything coffee related. I volunteer as a youth leader because I believe that what most people call "the future of the church" is the church right now. I believe that every kid in Christian community has gifts that can be used by God to build his kingdom. And I'm excited to play a part in God's call for each kid that shows up. And that's no cap ;)
My name is Steve and I have been a leader with Anchored Youth group for 3 years. In my free time I enjoy outdoor activities including fishing, camping, playing sports, as well as indoor things such as video games, card games and board games. Not long after starting to attend Bridge church I felt called to serve specifically in the youth group. Having grown up attending a youth group and learning a lot through the mentors I found there, I knew that God could use me to help mentor up and coming youth. My wife (Ashley) and I are very excited for the upcoming years with Anchored youth and to serve our community as part of our journey with God.
My name is Ashley and I have been with Anchored Youth for 2 years! I grew up in Mundare and enjoyed playing lots of sports growing up. I enjoy spending time with friends and family and I will never turn down the opportunity to play a good board/card game. I am married to Steven ( another youth leader ) and we are expecting our first child in December! We started going to Bridge Church in 2020 and we decided to serve as youth leaders to help serve our community in Fort Saskatchewan. I believe it’s important the youth have somewhere with a sense of community, belonging and to just have fun! Also most importantly, having a place to develop a relationship with God .
Eliana has been going to Bridge Church since her senior year of high school, and is heavily involved in the worship team. She is currently going to university for elementary education, and is planning on becoming a teacher. She also works as a sports coach to children, as well as a special needs child caretaker, and at a small local goods store in Edmonton. She loves working with children and has previous experience as a youth leader. She cannot wait to get to know your kiddos, and help foster their relationship with God in amazing ways!
