About Bridge

Vision, Calling & Core Values

Our Vision

In Fort Saskatchewan as it is in Heaven

Our Calling

To see God's Kingdom come in Fort Saskatchewan as it is in Heaven through the proclamation of the Gospel, building Christ-centred Community, and joining Christ on Mission.

Our Core Values

We embrace three core values that guide everything we do

Gospel: Find Hope

Jesus is The Bridge for ordinary people to know and be transformed by an extraordinary God.

“The Gospel” means this: Jesus won the victories that we could not! We believe that the death and resurrection of Jesus is the single greatest event in all of history. It changes everything! In Jesus we find connection to God and to one another in a disconnected world. The Gospel is tangible hope for our lives, our families, our city, and the world. It tells us who we are and empowers us for service to the world.

Community: Find Belonging

Jesus, our Bridge, has made us a community to grow, serve and worship together.

We are an imperfect group of people that Jesus has called together for something special. We are a worshipping community — together we pray fervently, proclaim God’s word with integrity, and celebrate God’s grace through Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, meeting in both large and small gatherings. We are a serving community, joining God in His Mission to change the world through the Gospel not just as individuals but as a community, serving one another and the world after the servant example of Jesus. We are a growing community — in our weaknesses, sin and brokenness we are committed to allowing the Gospel to do its work on us, seeking transformation for ourselves and for each other.

Mission: Find Purpose

Jesus invites us to build bridges that connect a broken and hurting world to God.

God is on a Mission to see people and the world transformed, and Jesus has sent us into the world to be agents of that transformation. We believe the Gospel is news that needs to be shared and experienced with everyone. Out of love for God and love for our neighbour, we desire to see more people know and experience the transforming power of God’s Spirit. The Gospel compels us to fight for justice in the world, to serve our neighbour locally and around the world, and to humbly point the way to Jesus through loving acts of service, justice, listening and sharing.

Our Beliefs & Affiliations

Bridge Church stands with the historical Christian church and, first and foremost, centers its beliefs on the three foundational creeds that all Christians uphold: the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed.

We are part of a tradition that was birthed out of the Reformation. We hold to its five Solas: Sola Scriptura (Scripture alone), Sola Fide (Faith alone), Sola Gratia (Grace alone), Solus Christus (Christ alone), and Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God alone). We also embrace three confessions to help guide our understanding of Scripture: the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dort.

We are a church committed to thoughtful cultural engagement. We believe that God’s people should not run from the world, fight it, or merely conform to it—rather, we are called to engage culture and make the world better wherever we go.

While we are proud of our theological heritage, Bridge Church is a place where Christians of differing theological perspectives can find a home, and where those new to faith can explore Christian spirituality at their own pace. We believe people should be able to belong to a community even before they believe or become who God is shaping them to be.

Bridge Church is affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church in North America (Classis Alberta North) and Resonate Global Mission.
